Martin recently played a fascinating game against John Bassinder of Wimborne. Martin got the better of the opening and his opponent had to head towards some sort of material imbalance in the middlegame. John could have sacrificed two pawns for a lot of compensation but instead gave up his queen and two pawns for a rook and two minor pieces, which might have been OK except that Martin managed to quickly mop up one the pieces.
It is well worth playing through, with the game itself and the sidelines providing much interest. You can see more games from club members here.
