From 20th September Ringwood Chess Club has a new venue – Greyfriars Community Centre.
The Original White Hart had been a good home for a number of years but was becoming problematic even before COVID struck, and it had become clear that it was no longer an option for us.
Having trialled Greyfriars for Dorset League matches and a blitz tournament during the curtailed 2019/20 season, we found it to be excellent. It will give us one of the best venues in the area and a consistently good environment for matches.
Our first evening in Greyfriars this year will be on Monday 20th of September from 7:00 pm onwards, which gives us a few weeks to settle in before the Bournemouth and District Chess League starts up in mid-October.
