The TH Russell Charitable Trust provides financial support for organisations in the Ringwood area helping elderly people. In view of our high proportion of elderly members the trust as very kindly given us a grant to allow us to maintain the use of two rooms during the league season, one being used for matches and one being used for casual chess with plenty of chatting!
Without this grant we would have had to reduce to using only one room, so the grant will make a huge difference to us over the next couple of years and allow us to maintain social chess throughout the year.
In the long term we aim to be able to maintain two rooms by recruiting more members and will be starting an advertising campaign. Please speak to Martin or Peter about how you can help with this.
