On Friday 7th October, Ringwood A traveled to face Southbourne A in the B&DCL League Division 1. Southbourne were without Russell Pegg who is playing for their B team this year but nonetheless fielded a strong team.
After an early win by Martin, who in his own words “robbed” Len Laker, to take a point, a draw by Peter and a loss by Graham, it came down to a tricky endgame between Kevin and Martin Simons. Kevin appeared to be worse but was holding on well when Martin offered a draw, leaving the match all square.
So a steady start to the season in what looks like a tougher than usual Division. You can see the scorecard here on LMS.
